WordPress is a great platform to build feature and content rich websites with, that look great. If you are a professional Web Designer, you know how to keep a website current – if not and you are no longer paying someone to update your online presence, problems can occur and we are well placed to help you sort them out.
So, you had a wonderful website designed for you, some time ago. It looked great. Your web designer signed off and you accepted that contract termination.
How are things now?
#1: Are you still in touch with your Web Designer?
If you have paid for a maintenance package, your Designer will no doubt keep things updated for you, including the required security updates that are released and must be installed. If not, you may find that your WordPress version is now outdated and could start to cause issues with the way your website views.
#2: Are your Plugins still working?
Plugins are often used to find a solution to a requirement on the website. These Plugins also need updating to work effectively with the latest WordPress software release. If you do not have access to your website control panel, it is possible that you are not updating the plugins, or worse still, if you are updating the plugins, without backing up your website, any conflict will cause a visual issue. No back up, no easy fix.
#3: Speaking of back-ups – is your website backed up regularly?
You may think this is a given, but we are increasingly speaking with website owners that experience the issues mentioned above, only for us to find, when giving assistance, that the back ups are very outdated – if indeed they still exist.
#4: Would you be able to move your website and domain name, should you choose to?
We also deal with clients that have paid for their domain name many years in advance , yet are unsure of where it is and how they can access it.
We will work diligently to find out where your domain is and help you take back control of it. We have several ways to do this and are very successful at achieving a positive outcome. A domain name is important and the domain owner should be able to take back the required control. Contact us with your specific issue and we will talk through a plan to achieve it.
